08/19/21 - UKEC Comes to Campus Ruckus

The Energy Club welcomed in over 30 new members at Campus Ruckus. We were able to show off the power bike and the hydroelectric turbine tank at our table, and give insight on what is to come this year, including the solar charging stations on campus!

A huge thank you to Kentucky East Power Cooperation who virtually came and spoke to our members about what their company has to offer and the benefits and disadvantages of solar energy. 9/3/20 - Fall 2020 Kickoff Meeting

Welcome back to campus Wildcats! We had a wonderful time getting to meet our new Energy Club members (both virtually and in person) and can not wait to get this semester started. The board has plenty of projects and programming to keep you engaged this strange year. We are planning on getting EV chargers in the Cornerstone Garage, so stay tuned for updates to our largest project yet! If you have not yet, please join our GroupMe and email list.

3/22/20 - EDay Tabling

The UKEC had a blast tabling at RGAN for E-Day. We showed off last year's project, the Power Bike, and allowed interested students to take it for a spin.

Ringing in the Spring 2020 Semester

Welcome back to campus! Thank you to all of you who attended our first meeting of the decade on Jan. 23! The E-Board has been hard at work planning the upcoming events for this semester, and want to share with you some of our exciting plans.

Our first turbine build took place on Friday, 1/24 where we began the process of assembling and debugging the design. Our next build sessions will take place on 1/31 and 2/7.
We also have several volunteer opportunities for those interested in repping the club including the Involvement Fair, Career Fair, E-Day and Merit Weekend Exhibits. Stay tuned for more information.
Tours! We are planning several tours this semester including a coal mine located in Western Kentucky. Details to follow.
The E-Board has decided to attend the Sixteenth Annual Symposium on Energy in the 21st Century in Syracuse, New York.

December in Review

As we end our third semester of the Energy Club, we want to give a huge shout out to our members who make the club a reality. The executive board is working hard to prepare some exciting events for next semester, including the annual energy conference. Keep on the look out for updates to our calendar, we will start putting events on as soon as we finalize the plans. We hope that finals week went well for everyone! Have a great winter break, and keep fueling innovation for a brighter tomorrow!

12/04/19 - Tesla Talk Event

The UKEC hosted "Tesla Talk" on Wednesday, December 4th from 2:30-4 pm in Student Center. Tesla sales representatives came and gave a presentation on how they continue to help transition the world to sustainable energy. The event was a success with over 70+ members and faculty joining us.

November in Review

The month of November consisted of working on our Hydroelectric Turbine Project and a tour of GE Aviation. Thanks to all the members who participated in the project building over the past few weeks! October in Review

Thank you to Zach Fuqua and Ilka Balk from Engineering Career Development for hosting our annual PD night. Energy Club members toured CAER and learned all about the current research projects. A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered with Big Blue Recycling Crew at the UK vs Arkansas game! We ended the month with a fun Halloween party social. We have many exciting tours and events coming up in November you don’t want to miss!

September in Review

A huge thank you to all of our members who came to learn about the UKEC as start a new year! Our Project Directors, Anna Fatta and Jennings Rule, introduced the Hydroelectric Tank project to the club during the first meeting. The E-Board also gained a 2nd Events Director, Zeb Hart, who is a junior majoring in Mining Engineering. 09/09/19 - First Meeting of the Semester

...And the semester has begun for UKEC! We welcomed over 55 members into Whitehall to enjoy some pizza and discuss energy for our first meeting of the semester. We are all super excited for what we have planned for the semester, so keep coming to our meetings to stay up to date! Thank you to everyone who came today!

08/22/19 - New Student Recruitment

The UK Energy Club has stepped up to recruit motivated new members by tabling at Campus Ruckus and New Student Orientation. We showed off the Power Bike Project, allowing potential members to give it a try and learn how it works. Throughout the events, we were able to gain over 80 new members who will be the future of energy on UK's campus.
